Creating is my Therapy

I’ve been bit by the creativity bug, yet again. Only this time I’ve channeled my energies towards creating arm candy. I’ve always loved making things. I also love looking at pretty things. I have to micro-manage my time on Pinterest or I’ll get lost and find out 5 hours later that I was just looking for a color palette.

I don’t always partake in making things pretty which explains a major disconnect I’ve been feeling for the past 10 or so years. Normally my creativity extended to website design. I’d create my site, gush about it for a week, find the tiniest thing wrong with it and then start all over again.

This has been my cycle for as long as I can remember. Only this time I’ve decided to switch up the creation process. Now I’m focusing my inner muse towards bracelets.

Now I can’t get enough!

What I’ve come to realize through making pretty things is that the entire process of ideation to conception is more therapeutic than a year’s worth of therapy and a bottle or two of Lexapro.

There’s something about putting it together with your mind, eyes and hand that gives me a runner’s high, or so I hear since I don’t run! 😉 But you know what I mean.

There’s a sense of purpose, fulfillment and genuine bliss that comes with making something. I always get it when I design my own site but that joy is fleeting. What’s great about making bracelets is that I don’t get the perfectionist bug. That might have something to do with the fact that I can always make another one once I am done.

I’ll trade in OCD workaholic for perfectionism any day of the week. At least I’ll have a bunch of items to sell afterwards rather than recreating the same thing over and over again.

In the meantime, feel free to connect with me on IG where I’ll be sharing my latest creations, for fun and for profit! If you see something you like let me know. 😉
